Steve Poindexter began his career in the construction industry at age 13 during summer breaks as a laborer and framing apprentice for both his father's general contracting firm and his uncle's framing business. At age 19, after a year of junior college, he took a 4 year break from the business and served in the United States Army Infantry as an M-60 gunner in Hohenfels, Germany. Upon returning stateside, he went back to his roots, working as a framer and on a Near-Cal project met Superintendent Marty Clark who suggested Steve approach Dwight Johnson about a position with Near-Cal. Mr. Poindexter began working with Near-Cal in 2001 as an Assistant Superintendent. He was quickly promoted to Superintendent, and in 2003 was asked to join the Project Management team. Today, as Senior Project Manager, Steve works directly with owners, architects and along side superintendents to ensure jobs run smoothly, on time and within budget. Steve is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix. |
